Kerry Gibson-Harris is a registered nurse and aesthetic practitioner. The software she used in her clinic was buggy, unreliable, and never quite finished. Updates were rare or nonexistent. Features that should have worked simply did not. And every time something new was needed, there was another add-on, another cost, another reason to feel like the software existed to extract money rather than support the work.
Kerry's husband Jens is a software developer. Between them they had exactly the skill set needed to do something about it. What started as a tool built for Kerry's own practice quickly became something they realised had real value for other practitioners in the same position. That is why Calyx Free exists. Not as a loss leader or a stripped-back trial, but as a genuine answer to a genuine problem.
The paid tiers follow the same thinking. No 12-month lock-ins. No overpriced add-ons that add little real value. No software that looks good in a demo and falls apart in daily use. Pricing that reflects what something is actually worth, not what the market will reluctantly bear.

Running secure, clinically appropriate software has real costs. Server infrastructure, security audits, compliance monitoring, support, and development do not stop because a plan is free.
Rather than charging you a monthly fee before you have built your patient base, we take 1% only when you earn. When a patient pays you, we take a small share.
On a £200 treatment, that is £2.00. On a £50 deposit, that is £0.50.
